Brett developed the "Three Nights of Tragedy" branding seen in the top corner, and then began to breakdown each work by their themes and motifs to reconstruct the illustrations. Hamlet is comprised of a goblet for the poison that kills, the skull which everyone is familiar with and the crown in the negative space. The Merchant of Venice is comprised of coffins with a cross in the middle balancing a pound of flesh with darkness, both creating a Star of David. Othello has a figure shrouded in darkness cloaked in the blood stained handkerchief of Desdemona. We did a short run of screenprints for these and sold them, ultimately we'd love to do more and add to the collection.
